P90x

Started P90x today and it is going to be interesting to say the least. I threw up at the end. Hope that doesn’t happen every time.

Haiti 2

February 16, 2009

We got home at 2am this morning with that good tired feeling. Everyone but my wife Emily. She went to the doctor today and found out she has walking pneumonia. Pray for her because she feels gross.

It was awesome to see all the ways the Kingdom of God is being advanced in Haiti. We stayed at a place called Mission of Hope (www.missionofhopehaiti.org). They have a school of around 1300 students, a medical clinic, and an orphanage all on their main campus. Apart from that they are feeding over 16,000 people a day through their food programs. They truly have become the hands and feet of Christ to so many people. However, the vision is a lot bigger than what is already there. There is a hospital waiting to be finished and funded, several more orphanages waiting to be built on their site, and a new organization that is being formed that will bring different groups together called Haiti One. Haiti One will feed over 50,000 people a day. If you are wondering about a good spot to “put your money where your mouth is,” this would be a great place! Some of you have already sponsored students for the School of Hope at some events…THANKS!!! If you are interested in doing this shoot me an email and I’ll tell you how to get going. It’s only $30 a month to send a student to school. Or if you want to sell that lake house and boat you don’t need to build a new hospital or ten orphanages that would be fantastic as well.

I’m already wanting to go back and some of you should pray about going down and getting the vision for Haiti. I’m going to post some pictures from the trip whenever I can get back in my bedroom after the Emily quarantine is over. Pray for us this week as we travel to Fort Lauderdale and then as I go to New Orleans. The gospel is needed these places just as much as Haiti!!! On a side note this Surviorman guy on TV is trying to bite down a huge bamboo stalk for no reason because he has a huge machete.

Haiti Trip

February 11, 2009

My wife and myself along with some other friends are headed to Haiti tomorrow. For all those who read this post will you pray that God will give us a vision for the people of that country. It’s been a weird road that has attached the ministries of Mission Of Hope Haiti and my own together and I’m excited to see what God has around the bend! I will post a report of the trip when we get home on Sunday.

Oh yeah…never fly American, hands down the worst customer service on the planet!!!

We had a blast this weekend!!! These Briarwood students made me laugh pretty much the whole time.

Pinelake Dnow

February 2, 2009

We were in Brandon MS this weekend for a Dnow at Pinelake. We met a super cool guy names Jeremy who spoke to the students about who they saw themselves as being, who God is and who we are in Christ, and the importance of Christian community. We had a blast. Word of caution though, if you eat at Cheddar’s and get the Monte Cristo sandwich you might die right there on the spot. A sandwich fried in funnel cake batter and served with jelly on the side is bad news.
